Show Synopsis

The “Tappy McCrackin Variety Hour” is the biggest hit show network television has ever seen. A pint-sized girl named Tappy McCrackin is the singing, dancing star of it all – but when disaster strikes the studio, right before the big show – who will help her save the day?

The score is a catchy, fun, jazzy, and heartfelt fusion of contemporary and traditional Broadway with some pop influences. The script is quirky, with the best way to describe it as Annie meets Carol Burnett meets Scooby-Doo.

Seeking non-Equity performers who are strong singers and musicians who are open to collaboration and aren’t afraid to find the funny. Not all characters need to tap. While tapping is a plus, please don’t let that deter you from auditioning! All performers need to be comfortable singing harmonies, move fairly well, and be adaptable to change as this is a new work.

We are casting 16 people (10 female presenting, 6 male presenting) for this production.

For the Audition

For those auditioning for the role of Tappy, the character in the show is 10. You do not need to be 10 years old, but you’ll need to believably play 10 in both voice and appearance.
